Jace Madrigal is a task force of one, out to stop the poaching of black bear for the
Asian medicinals black market. She's up against a cagey poacher by the name of Buddy Johnson, a card-carrying Survivalist and all around murderous despoiler of the
environment.
Black bear bile is an extremely valuable commodity, street price: $1700
per tablespoon and Buddy will do anything to keep
selling it, including buying a cop in Jace's department.
One by one, Buddy takes out
bears, biologists and fellow bad guys, until there is only one man left who could
identify him.
But when Jace takes a closer look, that man bears a curious
resemblance to Buddy himself.

Sandoval McNair graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries Science and worked for the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife before moving to Portland, Oregon, where she now walks dogs, watches birds, and writes mysteries.
