Deb Lee
Rest in Peace
On September 12 the world lost writer and artist Deb Lee. She was our friend
and we miss her dearly.
Deb was with Books Unbound from our beginning. She and her friend Kammy Bonias
wrote the first book we published.
Beyond the Horizon
is the best seller on
Books Unbound's
site, despite having been previously published elsewhere. Deb also created
many of the covers for our books. You can see them throughout our site.
Deb and Kammy wrote two more books in the Horizon trilogy, and they are just as
popular as the first. So often we'd see a reader try
Beyond the Horizon
and then two days later follow with
Uncertain Horizons
and then
War on the Horizon.
Deb co-authored with Kammy again in Paradise Shattered, also published by Books Unbound.
Deb also released her first solo work in 2004. The Last White Knight was a finalist in the 2005 Eppie Awards, given annually to reward excellence in e-books. We plan to release her latest solo work, Universe DCT late 2005, as per her wishes.
Deb was friendly, warm and encouraging. She was modest to a fault.
Deb was taken from us so suddenly and too soon. Our hearts are heavy, and we
can only imagine the loss to her family.
Deb, we love you and will always remember you.

Uncertain Horizons
by D. Lee and Kammy Bonias
Streena and her people had accepted the fact that their race was doomed. It
seemed that the Goddess had turned her back on them. The large warrior race
that appeared to save them made her leery.
Could they really only want to
help? It was more probable that they were
gathering them for slave labor.
Little did she know her own people's history
would be more dangerous.
War on the Horizon
by D. Lee and Kammy Bonias
Rahne Debar has an impressive linage. As first daughter of Rahul and Jade
Debar, she's in line to be Empress of the Pontenz Empire. Will she be strong
enough to shoulder the responsibility with a war looming on the horizon? Or
will her earthling heritage prove to be a weakness she can't overcome?
Paradise Shattered
by D. Lee and Kammy Bonias
Vincent sought to escape the hierarchy of Kindred life. He had no desire for
power, or to listen to the endless bickering between clans. He and his two
ghouls built themselves paradise in the form of a resort in the mountains. What
he didn't count on was falling in love.
Last White Knight
by D. Lee
Christine Foster goes home to find out what happened to her sister. What she
discovers is the stuff of folk-tales and horror movies. Vampires, here in the
21st century! Now Christine struggles to stay alive long enough to figure out
which side she should take. It's not always easy to discern where the line
between good & evil lies, she finds.
This is the first book Deb wrote entirely on her own. She'd aspired to do that
and was thrilled when it became a 2005 Eppie Finalist.
